PredictCan Biotechnologies was featured on BFM Business as part of Tech for Future 2026, with CEO and co-founder Dr. Hong Tuan Duong joining La Quotidienne to discuss the company’s vision for the future of precision medicine.
Alongside other innovators in the Health category, Dr. Duong presented PredictCan’s approach and its ambition to transform how individual differences are considered during drug development.
Precision Medicine Should Start Before Clinical Trials
Precision medicine has traditionally focused on adapting treatment once a patient reaches the clinic. At PredictCan, we believe that patient diversity should be considered much earlier — during preclinical drug development itself.
Patients are biologically different, and these differences can influence both therapeutic efficacy and susceptibility to adverse effects. Yet many conventional preclinical approaches rely on standardized models that cannot fully represent this interindividual variability.
PredictCan is developing individual-centric preclinical models designed to reproduce this diversity in vitro, enabling drug candidates to be evaluated across different human biological profiles before entering clinical trials.
Building Preclinical Models Around Human Diversity
At the core of PredictCan’s approach is its proprietary Cell Educating Technology™, which enables the generation of individualized biological models using human serum.
Combined with microphysiological systems and AI-driven analysis, these models make it possible to study how responses to the same drug vary between individuals and populations.
The objective is to provide drug developers with an additional layer of information to help answer critical questions earlier: Which individuals may respond? Who could be at greater risk of toxicity? And how can this variability influence the development strategy of a drug candidate?
Making Tomorrow’s Treatments More Individualized
During the BFM Business discussion, Dr. Duong highlighted PredictCan’s broader mission: contributing to a future in which medicines are developed with human diversity in mind from the earliest stages.
By introducing precision-medicine principles into preclinical development, PredictCan aims to support pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in making more informed decisions, reducing clinical uncertainty, and ultimately contributing to treatments that are better adapted to the patients who will receive them.
The appearance on BFM Business follows PredictCan’s selection as a regional Tech for Future 2026 winner in the Health category, providing an opportunity to bring the company’s vision for individual-centric drug development to a broader audience.
